Rangda – The Demon
Rangda is the demon queen of the ‘Leyaks’ (mythological figure in the form of a flying head with entrails) in Bali, according to traditional Balinese mythology. Terrifying to behold, the child-eating Rangda leads an army of evil witches against the leader of the forces of good — Barong.
The Island Of Gods is full of mythology and sweet and hot exotic vapors between heaven, hell and fire. Some Balinese rites may have also influenced The Demon and one can doubt that he grew up exclusively in Olympus. Furthermore, according to the Balinese philosophy, the color Red indicates courage. The most noble color Red is the state all others strive to attain — it pulsates with life and energy.
